Rock gym/WOD’s: One of our tennis buddies invited us to his birthday party at a rock gym last Sunday. (Can you believe he’s 55-years-old??) His friends were awesome. Our climbing coach asked one of them what the proper word was to signal you’re ready to come down. His reply: “Bitch, bring me down.” At that point, I knew we were all destined to be friends. Climbing was fun, though terrifying at first. Definitely doing it again.

I’ve been thinking about the old “when one door closes, another opens” adage lately. I ended a toxic friendship at the beginning of this month. Coincidentally, the last two weekends, Mani and I have met so many fun, positive people who we wouldn’t mind rolling into our circle of friends. Ain’t nobody in their 30s got the time or energy to actively make new friends, so maybe there’s some truth to that old adage. Out with the old, in with the new. I did say we needed new gays in our lives; now we’ve got them in spades!

Last week, I snuck in some cardio, strength training, and rock gym time. Last night, I did shoulders, triceps, biceps, obliques, and elliptical. I stopped MFP six weeks ago because of our travels recently. (It’s no surprise that I haven’t made any progress in six weeks.) I’m back on it now, and I’m ready for results. 💪

Moar sushi! We were up late last night making sushi rolls for lunches and dinners this week. Man, soy paper is an asshole to work with. My soy paper rolls look like they got run over by a car. Thankfully, they don’t taste that way.

Tofu the pug: You’d never know she’s undergoing chemo. It’s a little disconcerting to see her running around and sniffing out food when it’s in her vicinity. I guess nobody told HER about the side effects (fatigue, nausea, decreased appetite).

I worked at that rock gym in Houston!
